Bridal Gown Monday – Two in One

Image
Happy Bridal Gown Monday!!! Today we are featuring Boncy Boutique a great online bridal gown (and so much more) shop for the budget brides out there who want great quality on a practical budget! I have fallen in love with the two in one gowns. I mean really, what can be better than to gowns for the price of one? And you get two great looks out of it, one for the ceremony and one to get you boogie on at the reception! I really love this one that Boncy Boutique has to offer, extremely trendy and hip great for an edgy bride or the unique bride! The Two in One: Sku: bri1012 And although this gown is meant to be a prom dress I thought it was simply to gorgeous to not consider for a second bridal gown, destination bridal gown, or my would-be favourite bride of all would be the bride that would wear this as their wedding gown! She would have to be one risqué bride. It’s a colour rich, floral applique, with a little bit of bling. It has an Indian inspired feel to it.. When getting...

Friday: A Day of Wedding Inspiration – Fascinate me!

Image
Happy Inspiration Friday and I’m sure everyone feels like TGIF!!! I am still in love with the vintage style wedding.. in fact when my wedding does come along someday I will definitely incorporate a hint of vintage for my theme inspiration. I am loving fascinators… and now that they have become so popular.. they offer a fun way to slightly modernize (but not too much) the vintage feel to weddings. And remember when using vintage as your wedding’s inspiration you don’t have to go completely vintage through your entire wedding, simply adding vintage features that you truly love in cooperation with modern features will give you a very personalized custom wedding. Don’t forget pops of colour! Fascinate Me! For photo credits visit Style Me Pretty.com

Bridal Gown Monday – Island Destination Bride

Image
Happy Bridal Gown Monday!!! It’s getting hot out there… and some brides are getting ready for their island destination wedding. But of course you cant leave until you have your bridal gown ready to go! Things to consider when picking a gown for the islands: Gown fabric: make sure it’s light weight and easy to move around in. Also if you plan on doing a ‘trash the dress’ session have a light lining underneath. Gown cost: when planning a destination wedding due to the lighter weight fabrics, this is a great area to consider a lower cost. If you search specifically for destination gowns you will see that they are usually priced very reasonable. Gown length: If considering a long gown consider a free flowing gown… go with a curve hugging gowns when considering a shorter or cocktail length. Due to the warmer climate form fitted gowns tend to make a bride feel warmer then usual and may even cause a bride to sweat. So be aware of this when choosing your gown length. Today’s Bridal Monday ...

Weddings of the World - 12 Part Mini Series - Hindu Weddings

Hindu Wedding Traditions: For the next little while I will be giving you a glimpse of different wedding traditions around the world. To truly be inspired one must dive into the rich cultures life has given us. Our first stop was Tibet . Our second and third stop will be through South Asia the 1st being the Hindu wedding Traditions: The engagement: A traditional Hindu custom is arranged marriage; the parents select the prospective bride/groom for their son/daughter. An astrological chart at the time of birth (Jathakam) is used to check the compatibility of the match. Some also take advice from a Brahmin (Jothidar or Panthulu) who has the details of many people looking to get married. Jatakam or Kundali is drawn based on the placement of the stars and planets at the time of birth. The maximum points for any match can be 36 and the minimum points for matching are 18. Any match with points under 18 is not considered as an auspicious match for a harmonial relationship. If the...
