Wedding Dress: What’s in a colour?

Image
Why are brides-to-be so fearful of colourful wedding gowns? Most think it means impurity to not wear white on your wedding day. Actually the past tradition was not actually about the gown but instead about the veil. More specifically the length of the veil. A virgin bride would cover her full face and neck. Today the veil still represents innocence, and modesty. More brides opt out of the tradition wearing veils of all lengths and colours, or not wearing a veil at all. Thankfully the wedding dress is shifting from the all traditional white to. White wedding gowns are gorgeous but colour can be just as beautiful. Let's explore the colourful wedding gown: Touch of Black From Left to Right: Venus Bridal – ve8025 | Sophia Tolli - Peony Love the colour black? Well why not incorporate it into your wedding dress. With the right theme a touch of black is just what is called for. If you're daring enough to go all black opt for a ball gown or an haute couture gown as they gi

Friday: A Day of Wedding Inspiration – National Geographic II

Image
Wow what a week! National Geographic ‘Photo of the Day’ for the past 11 days have been MAGNIFICENT. Really if you love animals and don’t have this posted on your Google homepage or sent to you in email, you are truly missing out! When it comes to Wedding Inspiration it’s not about identically replicating a like, or love of something. It’s about taking what you love and dissecting it. Finding shapes, colours, shadows, lighting, and etc. from it and using that to inspire your wedding day. Today’s Inspiration Friday is inspired by each animal in the National Geographic ‘Photo of the Day’… this is how I am inspired by these animals and I hope it inspires you too. Wedding Budget: Essentials

Image
The wedding budget is the most essential organizational item a couple can have when planning a wedding. It allows you to map out your entire wedding by category giving price point for each one. Let’s look at some of the budget essentials that all weddings will require: 1. Venue/Catering: a. Ceremony – Will you have your ceremony in a church, outdoors? The Ceremony is usually about 3% of your total budget. b. Reception – This is the big one. The reception takes up about %48 percent of your total budget. So when searching, make sure you are getting all you can get for the money you are spending. Also decide whether or not catering will be included with the venue or if you would prefer and outside caterer. Outside catering is usually an extra cost at most ven
