Gemstones and Jewel Tones - Wedding Inspiration Friday: Tanzanite

Image
Welcome to our Final week of the Wedding Inspiration Friday series of Gemstones and the jewel tone colours you can use to inspire your wedding theme. For our 3rd and final week we are exploring Tanzanite. Tanzanite  is a recently discovered gemstone, said to be connected with the traditions of the Masai tribe, who believe that it has healing properties. The Masai give tanzanite to newborn children, since it is thought to represent life. Representing Healing which for weddings is a very wonderful thing. To go into a new stage of life offering healing while accepting someone else would be a very good tradition to begin on. So lets's look at how you can offer Tanzanite, specifically Blue-Violet Tanzanite, into your wedding theme going with the feeling of calm, serenity, healing, and love. Below are the 3 different colour themes. Simple/Ombre great for minimalist are those who like a consistent look. Classic perfect for those who just want a pop of colour paired with neutral tones...

Friday: A Day of Wedding Inspiration – Fascinate me!

Image
Happy Inspiration Friday and I’m sure everyone feels like TGIF!!! I am still in love with the vintage style wedding.. in fact when my wedding does come along someday I will definitely incorporate a hint of vintage for my theme inspiration. I am loving fascinators… and now that they have become so popular.. they offer a fun way to slightly modernize (but not too much) the vintage feel to weddings. And remember when using vintage as your wedding’s inspiration you don’t have to go completely vintage through your entire wedding, simply adding vintage features that you truly love in cooperation with modern features will give you a very personalized custom wedding. Don’t forget pops of colour! Fascinate Me! For photo credits visit Style Me Pretty.com

Friday: A Day of Wedding Inspiration – A Regal Affair

Image
Happy Inspiration Friday!! How are you being inspired today? I am ALWAYS looking for new ways to be inspired and would be happy to use some ideas you may have or would like to see turned into a Wedding Inspiration Board, be sure you contact us ! My inspiration this week came from a great friend of mine Susan (Joyce) who suggested that my inspiration should come from the Royal Wedding that is on it’s way shortly. I must warn you that I haven’t been following this wedding at all… even though I am a Wedding Specialist I find myself more interested in personal and intimate weddings so the mass craze around this wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton has kind of kept it off my “must stay informed list”. BUT… I am very much inspired by the fashion and activities that the British Royals partake in… Ascot Knot Ties, High Tea, Gorgeous Ball Gowns, Bright Pops of Colour, Tiaras, Elegant Style, Posh Fashion choices… all very inspiring! So this Inspiration Friday is brought to y...

Friday: A Day of Wedding Inspiration – Taurus

Happy Inspiration Friday. Last week a colleague of mine Caren Chorlton-Richardson from The Favour Shoppe inspired me with her question of the day “What horoscope are you?”. I decided to focus specifically on the Lucky Flowers, Lucky Gems, and Closest Metal characteristics. Symbol: The Bull Ruling Planet: Venus Quality: Fixed Element: Earth Basic Trait: I Have Closest Metal: Copper Lucky Day: Friday Lucky Colors: Pastel Shades Lucky Gems: Lapis Lazuli and Sapphires Lucky Flowers: Daffodils and Daisies Horoscope – Taurus : For photo credits visit StyleMePretty.com Want to see what your horoscope would like as an inspiration board? Bridal Gown Monday - Touch of Colour: Red

Image
Happy Bridal Gown Monday! Today is the last day in our 5 week Touch of Colour Series . Next week we begin a new Bridal Gown Monday series and we would like to hear from you... so please learn more details HERE ! Today is brought to you by Fiona Todhunter Bridal . Red is a colour associated with spicy and sexy attitude. Adding it to your bridal gown or wearing all red for your wedding day would definitely draw a lot of attention, but of course only in a good way. When considering red as your colour think of your skin tone, if you have a red undertone a red dress will emphasise the red in your skin tone. So be mindful of that fact. Here are some great bridal gowns with a touch of red. For more information on each gown visit FionaTodhunter.com :

Bridal Gown Monday – Touch of Colour: Black

Image
I can imagine the scepticism of wearing black on ones wedding day. However, black shouldn’t be avoided because of the stigma one associates with the colour. Bridal Gown Designer Hillary Morgan definitely shows us how to wear black on our wedding day and I think if it’s a brides favourite colour she shouldn’t be afraid to showcase it. My view on a black bridal gown would be a black tie affair theme. It would be interesting and quite unique to see a bride in black her groom in white. Below you will see gowns from Hillary Morgan showing white gowns with back patterns and also included an all black wedding gown. Lets see the gowns! Hillary Morgan Bridal :

Bridal Gown Monday – Touch of Colour: Silver

Image
Happy Bridal Gown Monday. Today we reach week 3 of our 5 part mini-series on colourful bridal gowns. This week we are looking at the colour silver. Silver is a great wedding gown colour… it’s fairly light goes with several colours and shimmers in the light. Silver is also great alternative to stark white because its has a cool undertone. Because silver is a cool colour remember it will make your skin tone look lighter and could essentially make you look pale… if so contrast with a rosy or bronze make up. Here is a beautiful and unique couture wedding gown by Edgardo Bonilla : Veruschka Style#9059
