Bridal Gown Monday - The Silhouette & Style Series: Ruching & Pleating

It’s Bridal Gown Monday!! Todays post is showcasing Alfred Angelo. Designing gowns since the 1930s. Before you start be sure to check out the Toronto Weddings Examiners article on ‘ Finding the Right Wedding Dress ’ Pleating: Dresses with pleating are beautiful for a slender bride. Vertical pleats are great for a shorter bride as it draws the eyes up and down giving the illusion of height. Use pleating to accentuate places you would like to enhance (ex. Pleats at the waste to give the hourglass shape) Pleats can add bulk to a dress so try to avoid if you don't want the extra illusion of weight. Ruching: Ruching is like pleats in the sense that it can add bulk and weight to a dress, however it differs because it is a great way to hide areas a bride may be uncomfortable in showing. You can add ruching to a fuller skirt or to specific areas like down the back to accentuate that area. Alfred Angelo Bridal Click the images below for larger view. To learn more about Alfred An...
