Fall Necklines – Bridal Gown Monday

Image
It’s fall and the trees are slowly changing. Happy Bridal Gown Monday!!! This Monday we are going to look at the neck… yes the neck. What’s great about fall is the neckline possibilities on wedding gowns. People start straying away from the strapless and start adding lace, ruffles, bows, sequins, and all that jazz. I think fall is my favourite wedding season because it brings sexy modesty. There is a lot more fabric but in such a sexy way! Brides go elegant or fun; refined or funky… but they play on the neckline adding that unique touch that draws attention to the brides gorgeous face! Square, Halter, Scoop, V-neck, One shoulder, and Off the shoulder necklines are just the way to kick off the fall season and of course we are showcasing gowns from amazing designers on JLMCouture.com . What’s your favourite Neckline??? Let us know in the comment section below! Halter/One Shoulder Neckline: Square Neckline: V-neck/Off-the-Shoulder/Scoop Neckline: Have a gown or designer...

Image
Happy Bridal Gown Monday! Today is the last Monday for the Silhouette & Style Series and it is brought to you by Velencienne Bridal. Next weeks Bridal Gown Monday will begin a new series so check back. Before you start be sure to check out the Toronto Weddings Examiners article on ‘ Finding the Right Wedding Dress ’ The Ball Gown: A great style wedding dress for almost all silhouettes. Be aware that the ball gown cuts at the waist creating a shorting looking torso. If you are a taller bride look for a ball gown with a drop waistline, this will keep a lengthy torso. Ball gowns come in all shapes, sizes, colours, fabrics, and textures so be as creative as you like with your ball gown. Bridal Gown Monday - The Silhouette & Style Series: Ruching & Pleating

Image
It’s Bridal Gown Monday!! Todays post is showcasing Alfred Angelo. Designing gowns since the 1930s. Before you start be sure to check out the Toronto Weddings Examiners article on ‘ Finding the Right Wedding Dress ’ Pleating: Dresses with pleating are beautiful for a slender bride. Vertical pleats are great for a shorter bride as it draws the eyes up and down giving the illusion of height. Use pleating to accentuate places you would like to enhance (ex. Pleats at the waste to give the hourglass shape) Pleats can add bulk to a dress so try to avoid if you don't want the extra illusion of weight. Ruching: Ruching is like pleats in the sense that it can add bulk and weight to a dress, however it differs because it is a great way to hide areas a bride may be uncomfortable in showing. You can add ruching to a fuller skirt or to specific areas like down the back to accentuate that area. Alfred Angelo Bridal Click the images below for larger view. To learn more about Alfred An...

Image
Happy Bridal Gown Monday! Today’s Bridal Gowns are brought to you by Amy Kuschel. Before you start be sure to check out the Toronto Weddings Examiners article on ‘ Finding the Right Wedding Dress ’ The Boat Neckline (Bateau) The boat neckline is best suited for a tall slender bride with a smaller bust line. While it doesn’t draw attention to the bust it will automatically make the bust line look larger. However for the more curvy bride try a bateau bridal gown with a sweetheart or strapless like silhouette with a sheer or lace extension to the neck ( shown below with the Butterfly gown ). This style bridal gown is definitely best suited for a more traditional and elegant wedding. It is the perfect silhouette for a vintage themed wedding. Happy Bridal Gown Monday!  Today’s Bridal Gown Monday is brought to you by Mon Cheri Bridals . Before you start be sure to check out the Toronto Weddings Examiners article on ‘ Finding the Right Wedding Dress ’ The A-Line A-line wedding dresses are perfect for the bride who would like to show off a bit of their curves but prefers the dress not hug too tight to their body. This is the most common silhouette for a bride. If you are unsure about what the best style wedding dress is for you start with an a-line dress. To add some spark to the a-line dress try fabric layers, a crinoline bottom, an a-symmetrical shoulder, adding colour, or changing the neck line.
