Well this has been a long time coming! I have actually had quite a few people request Wedding Inspiration for A Game of Thrones or A Song of Ice and Fire.. but do to a busy schedule I never got around to it. Then the show got in the way.. I just couldn't think clearly when it came to what I wanted to do. Alas the show has come to an end and the new book has yet to be released so I thought this was the perfect time to post some GOT/ASOIAF Wedding Inspiration while there was little to distract my vision. And a vision it is. I wanted to give just enough old world fantasy and a modern edge twist. Some overt references like Dragon Egg Macaroons and some subtle intrigue like an "obsidian" (black gold) engagement ring with a pink "sapphire" stone. Happy Friday.. and a happy soon to be Valentine’s Day to you. Even if you believe Valentine’s Day is a so-to-speak “hallmark” holiday I think the idea of a day devoted to romance is divine.. I think incorporating romance into your everyday lives (not just with your significant other but also with family and friends) makes for one happy lifestyle.. lol! So we are doing a Valentine’s Day inspiration blog, but we are including the winter wonderland I’m seeing outside my window. Since it can’t be avoided – the snow I mean – it’s best to embrace it. So.. why not have all white with a hint of pink. Sort of like drinking a warm hot cocoa on a bright winter day.. that little flutter of warmth when all you see is the cold white. Happy Friday! TGIF! Hope you all had a fabulous week! Here in Toronto it has been really cold.. cold isn’t always bad. Especially for weddings for example, cold colours! Which of course what we are talking about today on our Inspiration Friday. More specifically the colour of the year Emerald. Such a rich colour perfect for all seasons, because it’s shade is deeper on the green spectrum it can blend with many colours. But being the colour of the year we didn’t want to distract to much from the colour.. and we love monochromatic schemes… just not as much as blended colour schemes so were adding some blue! Very peacock esc without the peacock, much more subtle with hints of aqua and turquoise. A great inspiration for a winter wedding because it works so well against a white backdrop. We hope you enjoy.
