HAPPY FRIDAY! TGIF! Looking outside we can see that fall is slowly coming to an end. Yes after the tricks have been played and the treats have been eaten we start to get in to the feeling of winter. Colder weather stores beginning to stock the Christmas items. But we couldn’t end fall on the blog without a little fall wedding inspiration. While browsing through facebook a while ago I came across this very cute picture of a precious kitten engulfed in leaves. To me this picture is the epitome of fall. Specifically the colours. More specifically when I think of fall I think of the falling leaves in rich reds, yellows, oranges, and browns.. which of course is what most would think of.. but I also think about the little pops of sunlight we get with rich blue skies, or how all colours pop against the muted tones of the everyday fall light. Have you noticed that when we get to fall the landscape around you gives a more beige/grey feel.. colours really pop against this neutral back drop. ...

HAPPY FRIDAY!! and TGIF! Were still plugging along with our Superhero Mini-Series ! This week… the man of all men Superman! A true all American… so of course we had to have some blue, red and white inspiration. But we also incorporated some classic elegance because Clark Kent is a true gentleman which inspires that classic era but you do have include a modern touch. We also added some sweet tea.. truly American.. (can’t you picture Clark Kent working at the farm stopping for some sweet iced tea?)… but we added a twist by finding a iced hibiscus sweet tea recipe for that modern touch but also for the red colour. Happy Friday! Were back with more of our Superhero Mini-Series ! This week ‘The Hulk’. Now I now some of my readers checked out the newest Avengers movie right?? My favourite character had to be Hulk. Mark Ruffalo did an amazing job. So it got me thinking about how I would transform the split personality of the shy but brilliant scientist with the rugged but sweet monster hulk. Well…. I added a little science, a lot of green, and some extra rugged nature on top. This is also a great way to combine the two personalities of the couple getting married. Take a little bit of each and something you both love… make the thing you both love the most prominent (like green in the hulk inspiration below) then add in hints of the thing you each like separately (like science and ruggedness below). This allows both of your visions and personalities to shine through on your wedding day. Hello Everyone!!! Happy FRIDAY!!! And happy CANADA DAY to all my fellow Canucks! We’re kicking of our Superhero Mini-Series where we will feature some of ours and some of your favourite comic heroes! Of course with ‘ The Amazing Spiderman’ coming out this Tuesday (July 3) in theatres we had to start with your “Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man”. And how, you ask, can you have a Spiderman wedding without the typical cliché costume effect. Think abstract and go minute with details. The key is minimization. For example, Spiderman has to have his webs… there is no if or buts about it.. so incorporate some spider web lace, spider web turquoise.. you get the point. Add the infamous red and blue, even have the bride where a delicate mask but not before adding some real superhero makeup to her eyes. Inspired??? Well I hope so….
