Friday: A Day of Wedding Inspiration – Cotton White

Image
Happy Inspiration Friday!!! With all this white surrounding us the colour white starts getting associated with cold. So today’s Inspiration Friday was inspired by the soft and luscious cotton!!! Although stark white cotton definitely isn't cold. It is soothing and warm… and can be incorporated into a wedding theme both by colour and with the cotton plant. Happy Bridal Gown Monday! Today is the last Monday for the Silhouette & Style Series and it is brought to you by Velencienne Bridal. Next weeks Bridal Gown Monday will begin a new series so check back. Before you start be sure to check out the Toronto Weddings Examiners article on ‘ Finding the Right Wedding Dress ’ The Ball Gown: A great style wedding dress for almost all silhouettes. Be aware that the ball gown cuts at the waist creating a shorting looking torso. If you are a taller bride look for a ball gown with a drop waistline, this will keep a lengthy torso. Ball gowns come in all shapes, sizes, colours, fabrics, and textures so be as creative as you like with your ball gown. Friday: A Day of Wedding Inspiration – Disney's Tangled

Image
It’s FRIDAY… TGIF… and after a long week of work everyone needs a little creative inspiration to unwind. Today’s Wedding Friday is inspired by True Love! Cause isn’t that what weddings are all about. Disney has a wonderful way of showing true love and I decided to choose a wonderful movie I watched a little while ago called Tangled… better known as Rapunzel. When deciding on a movie wedding theme be sure to think outside of the obvious. Sure for a tangled wedding theme you could wear a floral wedding gown and add long extensions to your hair… which would be beautiful!… but remember to consider the un-obvious with subtle enhancements like lantern wedding favours, make your wedding feel like a forest with tree lined aisle, be one with nature by adding a window box garden centre piece or organic edible flowers on your wedding cake or cupcakes. So remember this Friday to receive and give love truly as that’s the way to discover true love with significant others, good friends, and fam...

Bridal Gown Monday - The Silhouette & Style Series: Ruching & Pleating

Image
It’s Bridal Gown Monday!! Todays post is showcasing Alfred Angelo. Designing gowns since the 1930s. Before you start be sure to check out the Toronto Weddings Examiners article on ‘ Finding the Right Wedding Dress ’ Pleating: Dresses with pleating are beautiful for a slender bride. Vertical pleats are great for a shorter bride as it draws the eyes up and down giving the illusion of height. Use pleating to accentuate places you would like to enhance (ex. Pleats at the waste to give the hourglass shape) Pleats can add bulk to a dress so try to avoid if you don't want the extra illusion of weight. Ruching: Ruching is like pleats in the sense that it can add bulk and weight to a dress, however it differs because it is a great way to hide areas a bride may be uncomfortable in showing. You can add ruching to a fuller skirt or to specific areas like down the back to accentuate that area. Alfred Angelo Bridal Click the images below for larger view. To learn more about Alfred An...
